"Henry the Hungry Hound"

VIRTUAL AUTHOR VISITS - DESIGNED FOR SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES

  

Theresa Cocci, currently teaches in Reading, PA. She has over thirty years’ experience in the classroom and currently works in early childhood. Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, she has also earned her Orff Schulwerk Music Certification from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. 


Theresa is currently not scheduling in-person events but is available for virtual visits. She will be offering online presentations for the 2021 school year and looks forward to scheduling in-person visits again in the future.

She has recently completed Kate Messner’s, “Reinventing Author Visits” workshop and has revised her in-person presentations to create interactive virtual visits.

Theresa’s virtual author visits consist of a thirty-minute presentation, including a reading of her book, interactive activities, question and answer session. Each virtual visit is structured and can be customized to enrich your curriculum. 


Theresa offers the following sessions as virtual presentations: 

Henry the Hungry Hound Sound Story


Best for grades Pre K- 1st Grade


This presentation will invite students to creatively experiment with word dynamics and become involved in creating a “sound story”, based on Theresa’s  book, “Henry the Hungry Hound”, using cued words throughout the story. 


Mapping the Story

Best for Grades 1-2 

During this presentation, students will discover the process of creating a mind map from a picture found in  “Henry the Hungry Hound”, which will help them organize their ideas and promote the process of writing their own story. 


Common Core Standards are encompassed in Theresa’s presentations which include the following:

Key Ideas and Details-K.1, K.3, 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.3

Craft and Structure-K.4, K.5, K.6, 2.4

Integration of Knowledge and Ideas-K.7, 1.7, 1.9, 2.7
